Questions
Is it only for churches?
No. Churches came first, and the church edition is the most complete. The same app works for sports clubs, schools, teams, nonprofits and associations — any community with members.
How is this different from a group on a social network?
The app carries your name, runs on your server and follows your rules. There are no ads, no algorithm deciding what people see, and nobody else collecting your members' data.
What does “host your own app” mean?
The app's server — where accounts, posts, messages and events are stored — runs on a computer you own. If you'd rather not keep one, we run it privately for you alone. Either way, it is never shared with other organizations.
We don't have an IT person. Is that a problem?
No. We set everything up and keep it running. Your leaders only use the app: adding people, posting, and choosing who sees what.
Will the app carry our name?
Yes. Members download an app with your name and icon, in your colors. They never see ours.
Does it work in our languages?
Yes. The app works in your community's languages, and each member chooses theirs.
How does Madefor compare with other church and community apps?
